RTV BN

Radio Televizija Bijeljina, is a radio-television company based in Bijeljina, Bosnia & Herzegovina. RTV Bijeljina has been said to be aligned with hardline Serbian nationalists. RTV Bijeljina is more commonly known as RTV BN. The company was founded in 1998. RTV BN is currently the highest rated TV channel in Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia & Herzegovina and is one of BiH's leading channels.

RTV BN represents a 24-hour channel with news, political, and entertainment programs. The primary news program, BN Monitor, is the highest rated news channel in Republika Srpska.

RTV BN has over 120 employees with news correspondents throughout BiH, Belgrade, London, and Vienna, among other cities.

BN TV and Radio BN broadcasts news and music in the Serbian language. Radio BN is included with the RTV BN Satellite package. RTV BN is currently available in Europe, North America (USA and Canada), Australia, and New Zealand via satellite. BN TV is also broadcast on the internet but requires a subscription to the service. Radio BN is broadcast on the internet free of charge.

History

RTV BN was founded in 1998. In January 2004, it began running its programs on satellite in Europe, North America on the Globecast World TV Platform (USA and Canada), Australia and New Zealand on UBI World TV. In 2006, RTV BN started broadcasting programs on the internet using the livepro.tv website. In 2007, RTV BN has moved broadcasting over the internet to BalkaniYUm.tv website. In 2008, RTV BN will be moving its operations to a newer building as part of its 10th anniversity of operations. In 2010, police raided the RTV BN headquarters claiming tax fraud. RTV BN claims the raid was politically motivated and retaliation for their criticism of Prime Minister Milorad Dodik.[1]
